When
bad credit is a problem, knowing how to rebuild bad credit is very important.
What can be harder is getting the credit to rebuild less than perfect credit.
Sometimes
the only way to rebuild is to seek credit like secured credit cards, store
cards, or even taking out small loans as a step to start repairing credit. It is
hard to get approved for unsecured cards and some loans when there is negative
credit history. But taking small steps is one sure way to start rebuilding bad
credit reports.
Look
for a secured or guaranteed card with good terms and that report to major credit
bureaus. What you want is for them to report on time payments and using the
cards in a positive way. Never make late payments and pay any small loans you
are able to get approved for on time. Store cards can be one option, but they
usually have much higher interest rates than regular cards.
Monitor
credit reports often to see what information in showing up on the reports and if
it is negative or positive. The idea is to start building new good information.
If you rent, ask the owner to report on time rent payments to a major credit
bureaus.
