Card Rules 2010 and 2009
Some
of the new credit card rules are taking effect now and some will take effect
February 2010.
Points of the new credit card rules:
*
Cardholders get statements telling how it will take to pay off a
balance if only minimum is paid.
*
Rate hikes can't suddenly appear without warning.
*
Card companies must mail notice 21 days before payment is
due.
*
Card companies must send notice 45 days in advance if
conditions or terms are going to change.
*
In February of 2010 young adults under 21 years of age must
have a cosigner to get a card.
